e-Aadhaar / Obtain Aadhaar Online / Info Update

I have applied for my Aadhaar card back in 2011 December, along with my wife. Surprisingly my wife did receive her aadhaar card in a month time or so through post. However I have not received it so far.

Now that Govt is about to mandate this for many purposes I spent some time to chase my enrollment for the card. Below are what I understood and worth sharing.

1. If you have not received but you have enrollment form with you, go to https://portal.uidai.gov.in/ResidentPortal/statusLink and fill up the form to see if your e-Letter has been generated. Keep your registered mobile number ready to receive OTP.

3. You can also update your address online. To do so, go to https://portal.uidai.gov.in/updatePortal/home.action and keep your registered mobile number ready to receive OTP.

4. Supporting documents are listed here https://portal.uidai.gov.in/updatePortal/jsp/docList.jsp. For online submission, you need to upload self attested scanned copy of the document.

Most of these become working fine for you only if you have not changed your mobile number that you provided during enrollment.

I have not yet completed the process of updating my details online. Once done, I will update this blog post.
